Franklin Health Internal Medicine, a part of MaineHealth, is recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner to join a growing team in Farmington, ME.  The NP will be responsible for providing primary care services, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating and educating patients. This is a team care approach that will be working closely with physicians and other clinicians to provide patients a medical home – a place to go for help with any health issues.  New Grads welcome to apply.

Franklin Health Internal Medicine providers average 15 to 18 patients daily with ages ranging from 18 to end-of –life. The office is located on the Franklin Memorial Hospital campus.  The local medical community provides excellent colleague interaction and referral relationships. Come be a part of our dynamic team of providers, which includes three physicians and two nurse practitioners, working with exceptional support staff.

Franklin Health Internal Medicine is a multi-specialty, primary care group practice located in the rural college-town of Farmington, Maine, and owned by Franklin Memorial Hospital.   Internal Medicine provides office and hospital adult medicine services and preventive and diagnostic cardiovascular services and serves a population of approximately 40,000.

 Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Current nursing license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure.
  • Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Master’s Degree required.
  • Minimum three years of professional nursing experience.
  • Two years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred but not required.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of advanced practice of nursing, professional nursing theory, practices and regulations related to evaluating and providing patient care, and professional ethics related to the delivery of nursing care.
  • Knowledge of patient assessment techniques including taking medical histories, performing physicals, evaluating health status, including state of wellness and compliance with care recommendations.
  • Skill in case management, time management, problem solving, crisis intervention, multitasking and other organizational matters.
  • Ability to make responsible decisions within scope of NP Practice.
  • Ability to educate patients, families, and staff in user-friendly manner.
  • Strong computer skills with skill in using computerized health information management system.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, clinical staff and the public.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
