Maine Medical Partners Obstetrics and Gynecology in Portland is seeking an experienced Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist to lead the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

This well-established division, with 70 years of combined experience in the field of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, provides services throughout the state of Maine, including a growing perinatal regional program with several outreach clinics.  This practice provides consultative services, as well as full antenatal care at Maine Medical Center, with the only level IV Maternal Obstetric Unit and level IV NICU in the state.  We are supported by a well-developed labor and delivery service with a BC OB/GYN on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  We offer Amniocentesis, CVS and PUBS, and have a superb support staff comprised of 16 sonographers, 2 senior genetic counselors, 4 nurses, a nutritionist and an advanced practice provider in endocrine/diabetes.

The OB/GYN residency at Maine Medical Center is an ACGME-accredited program accepting 4 residents per year. 

Maine Medical Partners Obstetrics and Gynecology is a multi-specialty group of providers who offer sub-specialty health care services within the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology actively involved in research and education, as well as providing quality clinical care. In addition to Maternal-Fetal Medicine, sub-specialties include Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology, Complex Family Planning Services and Urogynecology.   The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine has a full working relationship with all pediatric sub-specialties, including Pediatric Surgery, Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Pulmonology, Nephrology, and Gastroenterology.

The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maine Medical Center has 23 employed physicians and 4 non-employed independent medical groups totaling over 60 providers.  The MMC obstetrics and gynecology residency program, founded in 1976, has a rich history of training the Obstetrics and Gynecology workforce of Maine and supports 16 post-graduate trainees.  The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is committed to creating an equitable, inclusive environment that is welcoming to diverse faculty.

The candidate is expected to be board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the subspecialty of Maternal-Fetal Medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  The clinical components of the position require extensive experience in ultrasound interpretation, consultative outpatient high-risk obstetrical care, and inpatient consultative services.  In addition to excellent clinical skills, the ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and demonstrated leadership and operational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment in a large, dynamic health system.  Prior experience with outreach contracting, AIUM accreditation and inpatient telehealth services are preferred.   The ideal candidate would have a strong interest in teaching (UME/GME) and clinical research. The position involves an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.
