Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Maine Medical Partners, a MaineHealth member, is recruiting for a Physician Assistant (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join our Critical Care team in beautiful Portland, Maine. 

The PA or ACNP will perform daily rounds on patients with a team of fellows, residents and students, as well as development and implementation of care plans, ordering and interpreting of diagnostic studies, procedures, admissions, discharges and family meetings.  This is a dynamic setting that is growing and evolving. The PA or ACNP will participate in research and quality initiatives for Neuro Critical Care and Surgical Critical Care patients.  The program has multiple opportunities for learners including Neuro Critical Care rounds twice weekly, monthly cerebrovascular round, critical care grand rounds, as well as teaching rounds and multiple lectures.  Desire to be a lifelong learner, teacher and part of an interdisciplinary care team are required.

 

Applicants must have completed an APP residency program or have 2 years of relevant experience. New graduates/individuals without relevant experience may consider applying to the APP Residency program.  APP Critical Care Residency Program| MMC | Portland, ME (mainehealth.org)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Applicants must have completed an APP residency program or have 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.
