Maine Medical Center – Surgery Weight & Wellness NP - PA

Maine Medical Center, a MaineHealth member, is currently recruiting for an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Weight & Wellness Team.
 

Our mission is to provide patients with individualized treatment programs that include both medical and surgical patient consultations and respective follow-ups for patients to realize the common goal of losing weight and improving health. Provider will be managing obesity related co-morbidities such as diabetes, cardio vascular disease, psychiatric illness, and orthopedic injuries.  We have a comprehensive team of health care providers including physicians, registered dietitians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and behavioral health specialists who understand there is more to weight loss than just a surgical procedure. We are here to help you achieve your weight loss goals, and help you get back to living your life to the fullest.  

The American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) combined their respective national bariatric surgery accreditation programs into a single unified program to achieve one national accreditation standard for bariatric surgery centers. We are accredited by this Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®).
 
Maine Medical Center (MMC) is a Magnet designated 637 bed Academic Medical Center located in Portland on the breathtaking coast of Maine.  We are the states only Level 1 Trauma Center and a tertiary care facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree required.
  • Successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Background in Family or Internal Medicine preferred.
  • Interest in working with adolescent patients.
  • Previous NP/PA experience required.
