MaineHealth Medical Group Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a full-time subspecialist in Maternal-Fetal Medicine to join our Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in Portland, Maine.

This well-established division, with 70 years of combined experience in the field of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, provides services throughout the state of Maine, including a growing perinatal regional program with several outreach clinics providing antenatal ultrasound across Maine and New Hampshire.  This practice provides consultative services, as well as full antenatal care at Maine Medical Center, with the only level IV Maternal Obstetric Unit and level IV NICU in the state.  We are supported by a well-developed labor and delivery service with an in-house BC OB/GYN present 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  We offer Amniocentesis, CVS and PUBS, and have a superb support staff comprised of 16 sonographers, 2 senior genetic counselors, 4 nurses, a nutritionist and an advanced practice provider in endocrine/diabetes. The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine has close working relationships with all pediatric sub-specialties, including Pediatric Surgery, Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, and Genetics.

MaineHealth Medical Group-Portland Obstetrics and Gynecology is a growing multi-specialty group of providers, including 31 employed physicians and 15 APPs, who offer sub-specialty health care services within the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and are actively involved in research and education, as well as providing quality clinical care. In addition to Maternal-Fetal Medicine, sub-specialties include Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, Pediatric Adolescent Gynecology, Complex Family Planning Services and Urogynecology. The MMC Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program, founded in 1976, has a rich history of training the Obstetrics and Gynecology workforce of Maine and is expanding to support 24 post-graduate trainees.  The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is committed to creating an equitable, inclusive environment that is welcoming to diverse faculty.

Maine Medical Center (MMC) has 700 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary care hospital, performing over 3,500 deliveries annually with a Level IV NICU with 50 beds.  MMC supports a full complement of residency and fellowships training programs as well as integration with Tufts University Medical School focused on undergraduate medical education.

The ideal candidate is expected to have completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and be board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and BC/BE for subspecialty certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. The clinical components of the position require experience in high-volume ultrasound interpretation, consultative outpatient high-risk obstetrical care, and inpatient consultative services.  In addition to excellent clinical and interpersonal skills, the ideal candidate would have a strong interest in teaching (UME/GME) and clinical research. The position involves an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.
