Oxford Hills Internal Medicine, a department of Stephens Memorial Hospital, is currently seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our exceptional team of providers.  Come be a part of our dynamic team of providers, which includes seven internal medicine physicians and four nurse practitioners working together with outstanding support staff. Come experience the warmth of a small town combined with a medical community working closely with colleagues throughout the MaineHealth system to ensure the healthcare needs of patients are delivered with the highest level of quality.

We offer competitive salary and benefits and are a designated National Health Service Corps site which allow primary care providers to participate in additional competitive loan repayment programs through NHSC.  

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    1. Education: Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with two years of Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant experience preferred. MSN required.
    2. License/Certifications: Active Nursing license; certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or Current Physician Assistant license issued by the State of Maine or eligible of licensure, NCCPA certification.
    3. Current BCLS required
    4. Newly licensed Nurse Practitioners within the State of Maine must, for 24 months, practice under the supervision of a physician or other Nurse Practitioner acting within their Scope of Practice (32 M.R.S.A. Section 2102, 2-A)
    5. Provide direct patient care for more complex SUD patients ie those with opioid use disorder, stimulant use disorder and/or alcohol use disorder
    6. Provide consultation services for treatment of Hepatitis C with concurrent substance use disorder and active hepatitis C
    7. Provide all aspect of primary care for a specific patient panel
    8. Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure and functions; and community resources
    9. Knowledge of chart/medical record documentation requirements and federal/state laws related to release of health care information
    10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff
    11. Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and medical care coordination
    12. Ability to calculate and administer drug dosages (include vivitrol and sublocade) injections and measure results
    13. Ability to respond the changing workload based on patient census
    14. Ability to maintain professional manner even under stressful situations
    15. Proficient computer skills
