Maine Medical Partners Cardiology - PAH-Complex Dyspnea Program

Scarborough, ME

Schedule: Part-Time 20 hours per week

Req#: 181709

Maine Medical Partners – MaineHealth Cardiology is seeking a patient centered, respectful, flexible, and detail-oriented Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension and Complex Dyspnea Program (PAH-Complex Dyspnea Program), a joint collaboration between Chest Medicine Associates and MaineHealth Cardiology designed to enhance the quality of care for patients with undifferentiated dyspnea and pulmonary hypertension.

As valued partners in patient care, we expect this multidisciplinary clinic to offer several key benefits:

  • Comprehensive Care: Our program combines the expertise of Chest Medicine Associates’ pulmonologists, MaineHealth’s cardiologists, interventionalists, and imaging specialists working together to streamline the referral and evaluation of patients with pulmonary hypertension and undifferentiated dyspnea.
  • Collaborative Decision-Making: The Complex Dyspnea Clinic provides a multidisciplinary evaluation of patients with dyspnea of an unclear etiology despite an initial evaluation by the referring provider. This diagnostic clinic improves time to diagnoses for patients to return to their referring providers. Patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension can be managed in the longitudinal PAH clinic.
  • Continuity of Care: The program utilizes the benefits of the MaineHealth Cardiovascular Service Line to capture both the inpatient and outpatient care continuum. Patients who require inpatient services will receive consultation from, or be under the care of, the program care team.
  • Research and Innovation: This multidisciplinary approach will bring opportunities to participate in clinical trials to advance research. Future accreditation as a Pulmonary Hypertension Comprehensive Care Center is being pursued to maintain high quality of care standards.
