Stephens Memorial Hospital, a MaineHealth member, is looking to hire a Physician Assistant (PA) to join a dynamic and experienced Orthopedic practice in Norway, Maine. The successful candidate will provide medical care through office-based evaluation and treatment of outpatients as well as orthopedic inpatient and surgical support. The orthopedics practice includes a mix of orthopedic surgeons with range of skills including joint replacement, fracture care, hand surgery, and sports medicine. Orthopedic experience is strongly preferred. Experience or the ability to train to be able to provide first assist coverage for orthopedic surgeons is also necessary.

Schedule:  Primary responsibility during weekdays, in the outpatient ambulatory clinic, with some hospital and operating room time. In addition, provide call coverage on rotational basis including one weekend per month.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Successful completion of an approved Physician Assistant program with two years of Physician Assistant experience preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current Physician Assistant license issued by the State of Maine or eligible of licensure, NCCPA certification.
  • Ability to work independently and take call.
  • Current BCLS required.
