Mid Coast Hospital - MaineHealth

Brunswick, ME - Full Time – 40 hours

Mid Coast Hospital is seeking a full time Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to work at our 93-bed acute care facility with more than 200 providers on its active medical staff and broad subspecialty support.

  • Position Summary
    • Provides quality, cost-effective medical care for patients at Mid Coast Hospital. Works under the supervision and reports directly to the Medical Director of the Hospitalist Department, or a designated secondary supervising physician, regarding clinical issues and activities related to delivery of medical care to Mid Coast Hospital’s patients.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    1. Education: Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program or graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner training program with training in inpatient medicine.
    2. License/Certifications: State of Maine license as a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (APRN-C) required. DEA Number is required. NCCPA or ANCC certification is required. BLS is required within 3 months of hire. ACLS is preferred within 6 months of hire.
    3. Experience: Training and/or experience in inpatient care required.
    4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    5. Ability to work independently, effective time management and problem solving skills.
    6. Knowledge of health care management and the hospital care environment.
    7. Proficiency in the use of electronic medical record systems.
