Spring Harbor Hospital has an opening for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PPA) to provide overnight psychiatric and medical care for hospitalized adults, adolescents, and children. The position is from an awake overnight NP or PA from 4:30pm to 8 am 3 days per week. The position will be shared with another provider M-F and involve covering time off of the other overnight provider. The primary role of this position will include assisting with admission orders and ongoing acute evaluation of existing patients. There is 24 hour support available from the Medical Director and Vice President of Medical Affairs.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·Master's degree with an advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and additional medical training.

·1+ years of patient care in a community mental health center or hospital.

·Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating patients.

·Current and valid license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by the Maine State Board of Licensure and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management.  

·Specific credentialing criteria needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.
