Biddeford, ME

About the position

SMHC Women’s Health is seeking a part-time (32 hours/week with full time benefits) experienced PMHNP to join their Women’s Health care team in Biddeford, Maine.

In this position you will work alongside a care team that includes providers, LCSWs and other clinic staff to provide:

  • Psychiatric evaluation
  • Determining diagnoses
  • Prescribing appropriate treatment as indicated for a variety of psychiatric conditions
  • Establishing therapeutic relationships that facilitate progress toward treatment goals.

Desired COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will be competent and confident, having the ability to balance independent clinical decision making with appropriate consultation from providers.

  • Ability to attain (or currently licensed as) an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License in the State of Maine
  • Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a PMHNP
  • Minimum of 2 years' PMHNP experience
  • Preferred experience in a primary care or medical practice

This opportunity is ideal for someone interested in providing highly valued psychiatry services within a medical team, as well as the larger Behavioral Health Integration program where education, training, consultation and comradery are provided. 

The Maine Behavioral Health Integrated program is one of the largest in the nation, with approximately 40 clinicians providing care at over 50 primary care locations and almost 10 specialty offices throughout Maine.
