MaineHealth is currently seeking a clinical leader to serve as the Director of Neuromuscular Medicine. The Director will work closely with our Neuroscience Institute at Maine Medical Center to further develop Neuroscience Centers of Excellence in support of our neuromuscular, stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, and MS programs across the health system. This individual will have the opportunity to participate in our Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Clinic and provide oversight of the EMG lab. The Director will have protected administrative time to build the program as well as teaching and research opportunities commensurate with level of experience and interest.

We are looking for an enthusiastic problem solver with the desire to lead a high performing team with humility and vision and where patients are at the core of everything we do.  Strong cooperation, communication, organization, and team leadership skills will be key to success. The ideal candidate shall be a board certified/eligible adult neurologist with subspecialty training and/or experience in neuromuscular disease.

The successful candidate will be employed by Maine’s largest multi-specialty group serving the health care needs of patients throughout Maine and Northern New England.  This high quality team of physicians and advanced practice professionals provides a wide range of hospital based, primary, specialty, and sub-specialty adult and pediatric care delivered throughout a network of 54 locations across Maine and New Hampshire and acts as a regional referral network.
