  • Franklin Community Health Network, a MaineHealth member, has an exciting and interesting position for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to work with Franklin Behavioral Health. This is a well-established position working alongside the medical providers and other support staff in the Franklin Clinic. It is ideal for someone interested in providing highly valued psychiatry services within a medical team. You will be a member of the medical staff team, as well as the larger Behavioral Health Integration program where training, supervision and consultation are provided.
    This position is full-time, 5 days per week. The expectation is 14 patient visits per day. Call is provided by our local Evergreen Crisis Team. This position will work with another Nurse Practitioner and a team of clinical professionals in our Medical Arts Building attached to the main hospital. S/he will enjoy collaboration with pediatrics, primary care, women’s care, emergency medicine, case management, and substance use treatment specialists.
    In this role the PMHNP will provide psychiatric evaluation, determine diagnoses and prescribe appropriate treatment as indicated for a variety of psychiatric conditions. As a member of the patient care team, the PMHNP will establish therapeutic relationships in order to facilitate patient’s progress with treatment goals. To be effective, the PMHNP will have the demonstrated ability to balance independent clinical decision making with appropriate consultation from providers.
    Qualifications
    • Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
    • Ability to attain (or currently holding) an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License in the State of Maine.
    • Experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner preferred, New Grads welcome to apply.
      New employees are eligible to apply to a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program, which provides financial assistance opportunities ranging from $35k-$100k per health care worker serving in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA). HPSAs are federally-designated scores ranging from 0 (low) to 25 (high) in order to determine health professional shortage severity. In order to apply to receive financial assistance, health care workers must be employed at a site with a HPSA designation that has also has undergone NHSC approval. Sites and applicants located in a higher HPSA location have a higher likelihood to be awarded a loan repayment program.
