Maine Medical Partners Urology (MMPU) is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Urologist to join our well-established practice in Portland, Maine and support practice outreach initiatives within the MaineHealth system.

MMPU is the largest urology practice in the state, providing comprehensive treatment of urologic conditions to patients of all ages.  Together, the 11 urologists of MMPU and Maine Medical Center are actively engaged in research, teaching, and quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes and ensure ease of access, which puts them at the leading edge of care.

MMPU provides a full range of adult and pediatric urologic diseases and disorders, including a dedicated Pediatric Urology division, Kidney Stone Prevention program, and Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery program.  Our ambulatory services include urodynamic testing, oncology nurse navigation, and state of the art cystoscopic equipment with fluoroscopic capability.

The candidate will be joining Maine Medical Partners, a division of Maine Medical Center, Maine's largest multi-specialty medical group serving the healthcare needs of patients locally and throughout northern New England. This high quality team of 600 physicians and 350 advanced practice professionals provides a wide range of hospital based, primary, specialty, and sub-specialty adult and pediatric care delivered throughout a network of 54 locations across the State and acts as a regional referral network.

Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary care hospital and a Level 1 Trauma Center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and an integral part of Tufts University Medical School.  MMC is a comprehensive medical center providing the latest urologic technology including bipolar TURP, Holmium laser, Greenlight laser, daVinci robot, and dedicated cystoscopy suite with pediatric endoscopy equipment as well.

The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital is Maine’s premier children’s referral center, composed of 116 beds, including 31 Level III NICU NICU beds, 20 Level II Continuing Care Nursery beds and 8 PICU beds. It is supported by a pediatrics residency program and all significant pediatric subspecialties. The candidate will participate in the Spina Bifida Program, a monthly comprehensive clinic that represents patient-centered, integrated care.

The Maine Medical Center Urology Residency is the first and only urology residency program in the state, and MMPU serves as the core faculty for the program.  As a teaching hospital, an integral part of Maine Medical Center’s mission is to provide the best possible patient care now and in the future by helping to train the physicians of tomorrow. Because we understand that the healthcare delivery environment is undergoing constant change and flux, we are involved with quality projects that measure safety and outcomes, ensuring that we continue to provide a culture of patient-centered care.

Situated on the Maine coast, Portland offers the best of urban sophistication combined with small-town friendliness.  The area provides four season recreational opportunities, such as skiing, hiking, sailing, and miles of beautiful beaches.  Just two hours north of Boston, this is an exceptionally diverse and vibrant community.
