Position Summary
-
We are looking for an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with flexibility in their schedule. Under the supervision of a physician, the CRNA administers anesthetics for medical, surgical and diagnostic procedures as delineated by clinical privileges and in accordance with standards of practice governing the administration of anesthesia by a nurse anesthetist.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and an accredited school of nurse anesthesia.

License/Certifications: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine. Successful completion of an accredited course for Nurse Anesthesia Providers, with certification as a Nurse Anesthetist by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Current BCLS and ACLS required.

Experience: Previous regional anesthesia training/experience is desirable.

Possesses a comprehensive understanding of all procedures and equipment to administer anesthesia

Knowledge of chart/medical record documentation and terminology requirements and federal/state laws related to release of health care information

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients and other members of the healthcare team

Ability to calculate and administer drug dosages and injections and measure results

Ability to maintain professional manner even under stressful situations
