Maine Medical Partners – Neurosurgery & Spine is recruiting for an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with First Assist and ability to see both adult and pediatric patient populations to practice at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME.  This is an opportunity to join our well respected team in the Neurosurgery group supporting 13 Surgeons and working alongside 14 Advance Practice Providers (APPs) providing surgical, emergency, and in-patient care and services including ER consultations, hospital admissions, first assisting on Neurosurgical cases, and medical management of in-patients with daily rounds.
 
Primary inpatient responsibilities are at Maine Medical Center, the state's leading tertiary care hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center.  Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds, a full complement of residencies and fellowships, and is an integral part of Tufts University Medical School.  
 
Maine Medical Partners Neurosurgery & Spine is part of the Neuroscience Institute at Maine Medical Center, a regional center of excellence in neurosciences and one of the largest in New England. Our practice is an integral component of the Institute which focuses on three major areas: clinical/patient care, medical education and research, in order to provide the residents of Maine and New England state-of-the-art care. 
 
These are 12 hour day shifts averaging 40-44 hours per week which includes an average of 1 night/weekend shift per month.

        Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
    • Successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner programs
    • Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure
