Position Summary
-
A qualified Anesthesia Professional involved in the administration of anesthesia and related services. CRNAs of SMHC are an integral contributor of Anesthesia services practicing within an Anesthesia Care Team Model as collaborators with: Anesthesiologists, Surgeons, Podiatrists, Dentists, Nurses, and other disciplines caring for peri-operative patients and their families.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
-
Education: Graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, or its predecessor.

License/Certifications: Holds current state licensure as a Registered Nurse/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the state of Maine, and complies with all applicable state statutory and regulatory requirements concerning Advanced Practice Registered Nursing. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, Basic Life Support certification. Complies with one of the following requirements regarding certification or recertification:

Meets criteria 1 and 2 above and is currently certified by the Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists or its predecessor

Experience: N/A

Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer for the limits required by this institution or state

Demonstrates current competency in the clinical responsibilities specific to Anesthesia, for which the candidate is privileged to practice within SMHC.
